Walker No-Shine Tape is designed for hair system wearers who want a strong attachment without unwanted shine showing through the base. Its dull finish helps minimise light reflection, making it particularly useful beneath lace and monofilament systems and around areas where the attachment may otherwise become more visible.

No-Shine uses a stretchy 10 mil carrier and is classified by Walker Tape as hypoallergenic and medical grade. Walker Tape officially lists No-Shine for all systems. However, its dull finish makes it particularly useful with lace and monofilament bases, where reducing visible shine can be an important part of achieving a discreet attachment.
A Contour or CC Contour?
Both variants use the same No-Shine adhesive and carrier. The difference is the curvature.
Choose the shape that follows the section of your hair system perimeter or hairline where the tape will be applied. Neither contour is inherently stronger—the better choice depends on the shape of your base and preferred tape placement.
How to Use
- Clean the scalp and hair system base thoroughly and allow both surfaces to dry completely.
- Remove oils and previous adhesive residue from the attachment area.
- Peel away the white liner scored through the centre of the contour.
- Place the exposed adhesive side against the hair system base, avoiding unnecessary contact with the adhesive.
- Position additional contours around the perimeter as required.
- When ready to install, remove the remaining printed liner.
- Carefully position the hair system and press firmly against the scalp without shifting it during the initial bond.
For wearers who need additional scalp preparation, Walker Tape recommends Scalp Protector as an optional step before attachment.
Important Notes & Skin Safety
No-Shine is classified by Walker Tape as hypoallergenic and medical grade, but individual skin reactions can still occur. Perform a patch test before first use, particularly if you have sensitive skin or have not previously used this adhesive. Do not apply tape to broken or irritated skin.
No-Shine is a strong extended-wear tape and Walker Tape classifies its residue level as High. During removal, avoid pulling the hair system directly from the scalp while the adhesive remains firmly bonded. Apply an appropriate hair system adhesive remover, allow sufficient time for the bond to release, and gradually separate the system to reduce unnecessary stress on the scalp and base.
Keep the product away from heat, humidity and light. Store in a well-ventilated, cool, dark and dry room-temperature environment between 60–80°F (approximately 16–27°C). Seal the bag completely after use. With proper storage, Walker Tape states its tapes have a shelf life of up to one year.
